Displaying His glory!

Look and the picture to the right. What is it that you first notice?

No! This is not a new psychological test! But the fact that you wondered explains a lot! LOL

No! I’m not looking for fashion advice, though I’m sure some might think I desperately need it.

There is no hidden agenda here. Just notice what sticks out to you first.

The dress shirts? The oak cabinet on the wall?

Whatever it was, I’m guessing that you probably didn’t notice the little bar sticking out that the shirts are hanging on.

It’s not special. It doesn’t sparkle. There is absolutely nothing spectacular about it at all!

But without it the shirts could not hang on display.

If you’re like me, there are days when you feel like your life is about as spectacular as that bar. But, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Our life, our story, is simply part of God’s bigger story. The highest purpose of our life is not to sparkle but to display the glory of God.

The world’s idea of putting something on display is all about spotlights and paparazzi. But sometimes the grandest displays occur in the ordinary moments of life.

God uses our ordinary lives with their ordinary events to display His extraordinary glory!

Opening the door for someone. Listening intently. Offering an encouraging word. A warm smile. Being honest in a business exchange. Accepting responsibility for our mistakes. Thinking of others before we think of ourselves. There’s no end to the possibilities.

I wonder what opportunities God will give us today to display His glory?
