For anyone not aware, Thor is our (Susan’s) 8 month old Yorkie pup. At his Vet visit last week he weighed in at a whopping 4 1/2 pounds! I know… we should have named him Porky or Butterball or Lard Butt. Ha!
He is rather cute and does experience the occassional burst of energy leading to head-spinning laps around the family room that are quite humorous at times.
He thinks he owns the place and does tend to go wherever he wants; but his favorite place to be is on Susan’s lap. And yet there are a few special reasons that cause Thor to depart this coveted spot.
- The need to go outside and use the bathroom.
- The chance to get a treat.
- To greeet his sparring partner – Rex.
I don’t know how he knows when Rex (the cat) is coming back into the house but Thor will go stand by the door until one of us lets Rex in. Then he pounces on Rex and they slug it out. It’s really quite comical!
We all need a sparring partner; someone who shares the journey of life and is used by God to challenge us in ways that stretch us and make us grow. We need someone who will push us toward becoming our very best; what God had in mind when He created us.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. ~ Proverbs 27:17
We are all wired by God to share the journey!
