Unclaimed treasure!

I recently read about a Georgia woman who decided to clean out her purse and found an old lottery ticket worth $189,302!

Fifty-five-year-old Rhonda Williams of Fairburn, GA says she found the winning Fantasy 5 ticket after cleaning out her purse over the weekend. WSB-TV reported that the winning ticket was from a January 17th drawing.

Williams picked all five winning numbers but hadn’t even bothered to check the ticket! She plans to pay off bills and maybe take a cruise.

Can you imagine sitting on that kind of treasure and not even realizing it?

I can! We who belong to Jesus have been lavished with God’s immeasurable grace and yet we tend to do life on our own strength rather than rely on God. Grace doesn’t just make it possible for us to be forgiven of sins and restored into a relationship with the Father; grace enables us

For if, by the trespass of the one man [Adam], death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! ~ Romans 5:17

God doesn’t intend for us to merely survive in this life but to reign; to experience the life-giving power of His grace pulsating through our entire being in every circumstance we encounter!

  1. I honestly don’t know how God allows me to live and breathe considering that I, like the woman, have been so lax with my ticket. I bought it through confessing His Grace but did not cash it and receive its power to resurrect. His death is my justification. His resurrection offers my sanctification….if I cash the ticket. But he is merciful. And like the woman…I am just now cashing the ticket,

    Beautiful. Good thoughts. Thanks.
